Staying in a hostel can be a somewhat unusual and at times scary experience, especially if you have seen the movies regarding them as houses of death and horror. This for the most part isn't the reality of it and is a mere Hollywood dramatization of hostels. This also helps if you were to get robbed by ensuring that they will only get a limited amount of your money, rather than all of it at once.

By doing this, you are making sure that pickpockets can't just reach into your pockets, stealing your identity. You don't want to be caught without your identity in another country.
