Emotional Baggage: Too Much To Carry
The load is so heavy on your back.
How can you bear it any longer?
Four decades of memories, lies
that were created only to destroy
us and the life we lead and love.
They never wanted you to be
happy in your life, they felt
you didn't deserve happiness.
They still don't call or write
and the emotional baggage
is too much for me to bear
too much drama and chaos
It is my hope that one of these days that
you will shed some of that emotional baggage
which would allow us to be happy
whether or not they lied, cheated,
stole to get their way
We are a like two trees blowing in the wind
side by side, we support each other
through the thick and thin
The emotional baggage can be thrown
into the wind any day now.
I am tired of the lies, the manipulation
and all of emotional baggage
May they at sometime find true
honest piece like they knew as kids
when they were with us
The emotional baggage has to go

GASPING ON LIES
I hook the night sound
challenging empty capsules.
Gasping on lies, I crash,
brow t soiled satin,
chanting to
Cinnamon and thyme
dust the pavement.
You've walked one thousand
four hundred and nineteen steps since.
You stood in front
