Blogging is a very lucrative market. Those bloggers who make real money online do not happen to make it overnight. They have worked with their blogs for a substantial amount of time to build it and maintain it. They have sourced for various avenues to promote their blogs and gain followers who read their blogs regularly. It is only when a blog has regular readership that it can start making real money. Here are some of the ways bloggers make money.
Advertising Platforms
The most straight forward way most bloggers make money is by having ads on their blogs. You would have seen ads from Google AdSense and Chikita on blogs you visit. These are two of the major players . There are many more advertisers out there who are willing to pay to place ads on your blogs. Some of them pay by per thousand impressions while others pay per click or a combination of both. The more blogs you have more the more ads the blogger is utilizing and the chances of making money increases.
Blog Space Advertising
Bloggers also make money by providing advertising space on their blogs to those who have services related to the blog. This could be in the form of buttons they place on their side columns or as banners. Some bloggers also sell ad space in the form of text links. They link certain phrases or words to the advertising party links and get paid for the traffic.
Selling eBooks
Another way blogs make money is by selling eBooks. eBooks cost next to nothing to produce and it is easy to make a sale if you have the sought after content online and how well you write it. Once someone buys your eBook and finds it useful, you will get referrals and make more sales.
Affiliate Products
Bloggers also focus on sourcing for suitable affiliate products to showcase on their blogs. Affiliate products are products that belong to companies that pay the affiliate (blog owner) for leads or sale. A percentage of the sale goes to the affiliate and the more the blogger sells, the better pay he receives. As such, bloggers tend to have multiple blogs on different niches where they promote affiliate products related to their blog topic.
Paid Blog Posts
Bloggers also make money from writing blog posts that are paid. This is usually a review about a service or product related to the topic the blog is on. Also, some bloggers also do interviews as a publicity stint and get paid in return for the exposure.
Selling Products or Services
Some bloggers sell their hobbies online such as handicrafts, needlework and paintings. Some bloggers sell services such as freelance writing, catering (bloggers who are food writers or maintain food blogs) and online coaching services.
Successful bloggers do not leave any rock unturned to make their blog a successful money making venture. The online blogging platform is huge and there are many avenues available to make money if you are consistent and persistent in your approach.
