Alone
Alone is when you place a call
And with joyful anticipation
You await the voice that
Offers sustenance for your soul.
Anticipation is not strong enough for the call goes unanswered.
The soul goes unfed.
Alone is when sadness
overtakes your heart
And you yearn for the familiar touch
of that one person who can,
with just a smile, restore the sun.
You long for that one special presence
Beside you, your fingers entwined-
Warmly in yours-
To be there with you, not for talk,
but simply for the presence
Of that one, unique kindred spirit
with whom your voice harmonizes and your heart beats.
Alone is when your lips touch another's
And the fire you felt when you gave of
Yourself to the heart that is not pressed
to your chest at that moment
Is not apparent with this contact.
The moment is empty, shallow, bereft of love.
It is beyond tawdry-as it diminishes the act itself.
Alone is when you are in a room
and standing amongst the throngs
You cannot find one person
whose voice rings true to your ears.
You yearn to hear that one voice,
The timbre that is so familiar
That you could pluck that voice
Out of a thousand voices
On a crowded city street, but it is not there
And the loneliness is so total
That it brings tears to your eyes.
Alone is waking in a bed- in a darkened room.
The space is noisily silent
Save for the sound of the breaths
Of the soul next to you,
but all you can hear is
The tympani of your own heart
Beating within your chest.
Your body, your mind, your soul
Wishes to be anywhere but where you
Are at that moment.
It wishes for the breath sounds
Of that one who is not there.
Alone is when you know that you
Cannot give to your love
The one thing that will make them happiest.
Try as you might, you are unable
To summon the talent to bestow
That one singular joyful moment
that makes them so happy.
Your heart is torn like a piece of cloth
because you know that they can only
find that particular joy
in the arms of a stranger.
Alone is knowing and recognizing
The exact moment when
You knew your heart had been broken.
Irreparably damaged forever.
Rendering you alone forever.
Alone, the word rings as hollow
As a bare and empty room.
Alone, alone, alone.

Poetry: I hurt
Heartaches and Pain...
Sadness and heartache are all that I know.
They come against me one after another and pain seems to
The mind
Is a non-physical thing
Can't put a plaster on it
Or kiss it better!
Your softest, kindest voice
May so fen the hurt
I hurt more than can be put into words.
This is a hurt that devistates worlds.
As deeply as my love is.
As horribly as you
by Parin Waljee
I hurt when I see poverty around
children suffering the pangs of hunger,
In the dark streets of Kenya
I see a child walking
Blur
She is young but still able to wilt away
I love you and I care is all she need to hear someone say
To feel itevery breath,
