Though the ravages of numerous humanitarian missions, familial scandals, scads of natural and adopted offspring, and a tumultuous, publicly paraded, illicit love affair with one of the worlds' sexiest men, have all taken their toll on the unanimously celebrated physical appeal of Angelina Jolie, she is still one of the worlds most celebrated beauty icons. Her look, even with the tattoos, is always clean, elegant, simple, and refined. To achieve her look, is not as difficult as you may think.

Hair

Though many red carpet divas arrive with wonderful hair styles, to get the Jolie inspired look you need to basically make sure your hair is straight and healthy, with just enough body to accentuate your best features. This means that you cannot have any split ends or frizz. It is essential to find the right products that work for your particular hair type without looking like you are wearing any product at all. So, no clumpy gel and over-use of hair spray. Set in rollers and then comb out the hair to retain the body but lose the curl.

Skin

Pale is in when you want to look like Angie. Find a moisturizing foundation that matches your skin tone and blend it in below the jawline. Apply a loose powder all over the face and neck to even out the texture. Make sure that you apply onto damp skin.

Eyes

The Jolie look places all emphasis on her single most dominant feature: her mouth. All the color is centralized there. Eye shadow is kept minimal. Pick two neutral shades that complement both your eyes and your outfit. Start with the lightest shade and cover the lid. Blend the darker shade into the crease above the eye and the lower part of the eye lid, as well as a bit beneath the eye, toward the outside.

With a black liquid liner outline the upper lid with a cat-like detail toward the outer edge (a sharp peak that is slightly above the eye and then connects in a thin line about an eight of an inch along the lower lid). You do need to have a well defined line on the eye to balance off the weight of the lips but you do not want to have the eyes overpower the main attraction.

Then, blend a very light (pearl) shimmery shade just below the brow and just below the eye on the inside edge of the eye (by the nose).

Cheeks

Select a peachy or neutral tone to add definition to the cheek bones. Apply the blush from the temple, just below the check bone and blend. You do not want to see the makeup. You just want to give the appearance of high, defined cheek bones. If necessary, use a cotton ball to blend the blush .

Lips

Angelina Jolie is best known for her lips. Her massive pucker is her defining feature and she is not afraid to set it off with bright red lips. Just be forewarned that red lips can make teeth look really yellow. If this is a concern, consider going for a bold, but less bright color and, if necessary, a teeth whitening strips. Little details like that will take the focus off your great makeup job and negative attract attention to your mouth.

Above all, Angelina Jolie's look is about flattering her positives by adding just enough attention to everything else so that there is enough flow without competing for attention where she wants it most. This also means that she does not tend to use makeup to cover up flawed skin or tired eyes. Get plenty of rest and drink lots of water to ensure that you have the right glow.
