Reflections: Things I honestly believe

by Dea

Created on: December 06, 2011

The science of sociology depicts society as a conscious, pulsating and breathing organic whole.

I honestly believe of being a single cell in that whole, microcosm, vested with individual rights to serve the whole.

This living giant considered by many as being driven by the forces of good and evil.

My parents really believed that I was the perfect manifestation of good and evil.  Being the older sister (the first born) of my twin brother I constantly bullied him from well beyond my first birthday.  Evil raised its ugly head in deeds of smacking, biting and throwing things at my brother.  Much later, after each fight we were both punished by kneeling on corn kernels.  At the end of punishment my father asked the eternal question; Why?  Before I was able open my mouth to justify the reasons for violence, he interrupted; takes one to know one!

Up to the present day, evil; the eternal question of humanity remains unresolved.   Devastation caused by war, famine, domestic violence or corporate greed, doctored by the band - aid method of pitiful philanthropy - to maintain the status quo.

Despite the above, I honestly believe that evil is a row force, waiting patiently at the half way mark to meet Man and began to create the New
