Ode To The Tall Man

The tall man has a head, a head that clearly sees
For when it turns to look at you, his eyes are filled with glee.

The tall man has shoulders, shoulders true and square
For where there’s labor to be found, his shoulders will be there.

The tall man has a chest, a chest that can’t be bought
For within it beats the treasure of his pure and humble heart.

The tall man has two arms, arms whose strength belie
The gentleness of their touch, when you need a place to cry.

The tall man has a stomach, a stomach lean and strong
For even the enemy can sense the force of its resolve.

The tall man has two legs, legs that reach up high.
They march all day, beyond the night, and straight into the sky.

The tall man has two feet, feet that stay the course.
They run in one direction and it’s always towards the Lord.

So when the tall man stands before you, do not mourn the view.
Simply tap him on the shoulder and he’ll make room for you.

For when you stumble, fall or falter, the tall man comes to bear
The weight of all your burdens, your sorrow and despair.

So stand tall my friends, let your spirits soar through air.
For it’s the tall man’s love for us that carries us up there.
