Economic discrimination and its affect on society

The affect of economic discrimination upon a society is an enormous problem in the long run. This is because with discrimination comes economic apartheid - between those who have employment, and those who do not. Of course, those who have work are - in the main - able to afford the things that those who are unemployed cannot.

This causes a domino affect because those who are not working, or paying taxes or purchasing from the stores, become economically unsustainable. In the long run this means that the more people there are who are unemployed, the more the High Street, and society as a whole suffers.

The other affect of economic discrimination, is when people of a certain race, color or creed are over-looked for employment. Again, this causes an economic affect, to both themselves, and society as a whole. This is because when generations of people cannot find work, due to economic discrimination and prejudice, it means that generations of people have been thrown by the wayside.

Potentially this means that the money that such people could have been earning, the money that they could have been spending in the High Street, and the taxes that they could have been paying, will not - and does not - come to fruition. People who are over-looked for work for whatever reason, through no fault of their own, become financially unsustainable.

However the fallacy that such people do not pay taxes is untrue, because even when they spend what little they have within the stores, part of that money goes toward taxes on food and drink. So, in the long run, everyone pays taxes, whether they are employed or unemployed.

Economic discrimination means people not spending enough money within the High Street - and within society as a whole, through unemployment. Therefore the country suffers financially too because of the lack of financial spending within society as a whole. This then means that the country cannot then afford to purchase products, or even produce products, because of the lack of finances.

Economic discrimination also means that the potential of any person to succeed within their chosen field is stifled because of racial, gender and/or economic discrimination. So, therefore, the potential of people everywhere to succeed and therefore not just earn money for themselves and their families, but also to pay taxes to help the country grow financially, is also stifled.

So if people are not spending enough within the High Street - or not spending at all,
