Kerry now there's an adventure.I 'm from Ireland and I've been all around Ireland a few times but there's always something new to do every time I travel up the country. I'm from the South of Ireland, the real capital,Cork City. But from my travels I definitely think that Kerry is one of my most favorite places in the world. Now I will describe a few things to you about Kerry.
Kerry-a mountainous area down in the South West of Ireland. Not much in the way of huge cities but lots of sites to see and much to do down there.I f you are into hill walking or mountain climbing you should head towards Carrauntohill. This is Ireland's largest mountain. While on a world-wide scale its considered quiet small its still quiet a challenge to get to the very top. There is one path I know of but I've never went up it, I usually walk up the other side of the mountain. The mountain is surrounded by lakes and marshlands but its good fun still. Once you reach the top you can see for miles and miles around on a clear day.You can see all the bare and fertile lands that Kerry has to offer. You can see as far out as Killarney.
Should you feel you are not able for the walk up the mountain you can also drive up The Gap of Dunloe, well you can drive so far up it and then you can see the scenery. It is breath taking. I remember the first time I went up to that place.it was a bright day and you could feel the sun pounding down on our heads but the lands looked very majestic and you could see the patterns of shadows that the few clouds made on the fields. A very beautiful place indeed.
If your not into all this then you can visit Killarney,t his is the tourist capital of Kerry and it is very busy all year around. Killarney has lots of old-fashioned (and new fashioned) Irish bars and restaurants. A truly extraordinary place if your looking for a good day.You can go see the gardens of Muckross house and go see the house itself. The gardens are amazing and are used by many people every year for weddings and celebrations.
Ireland is surrounded by water and it has many beautiful beaches and extraordinary places but the coastline of Kerry is truly unique-the coastline is the most western part of Europe and experiences some of the most devastating waves crashing against our coast but its truly a beautiful site when you see a twenty foot high wave down at the end of a cliff breaking against a rock.
If I you are interested by the sound of Kerry, I really recommend you visit there at some point in your life as no life is complete without visiting this part of the green land of Ireland.
