Pre-makeup skin care tips

Taking care of your skin before applying makeup is very important, because skin serves as a "canvas" for the "artwork". If the skin is healthy and blemish-free, the makeup will look more pristine after it's applied. The following are several pre-makeup skin care tips to use for a beautiful face.

Wash your face twice a day, everyday

Most people wash their face only once a day, such as in the morning when they take a shower before work. Like brushing your teeth, the face needs to be washed in the evening too. Imagine leaving makeup on overnight, along with air pollution and dirt accumulated on the skin,  and how the pores will remain covered for an additional eight hours while sleeping. Skin needs to breathe, and removing dirt, oil, and makeup twice a day is necessary for healthy, clear skin.

Find the right facial cleanser for your skin-type

There is not one perfect facial cleanser for everyone, because not everyone has the same skin-type. There are many different products available at various stores. There are facial cleansers that remedy skin that is: blemished, dry, oily, red, aged, and a combination of them. You should shop around to try out various cleansers. And you don't need to spend a lot of money, because drugstores carry very good facial cleaners that are inexpensive, and there are also many generic products available that work just as good as the name brands. Eventually, you will be able to find a cleanser that has the best results for your skin and it will be worth it.

Always remember to exfoliate

It is very important to exfoliate the skin on your face every day. That is because it is easier for a face to glow when fresh skin is revealed. Exfoliating also helps to clear dirt out of the pores and remove and prevent bumps on the face. The easiest and most effective way to exfoliate is by using a non-smooth cloth material, such as a facecloth, soft pouf, sea sponge, or rough pouf (in order of softest to roughest) while washing your face. The degree of roughness of the exfoliating material you choose is up to you, and should depend on how sensitive your skin is. If, by chance, you do not like using a material to exfoliate, there are facial cleansers that have exfoliating beads in them that you can use, and the degree of roughness of the beads varies, so you are sure to find one that you like.
