Poetry: I'm too old for this

by Jacinth Klee

Created on: November 23, 2011

Sky diving, hang-gliding, para-sailing
Bungee-jumping, snorkeling, scuba-diving
Blood pumping, adrenaline rushing
No end to adventure and fun!

Hanging out with friends
Pub-crawling, laughing, talking
Dancing half the night away
Sleep is a foreign word

Working four nights in a row
Brain-storming sessions, endless discussions
Developing plans and strategies
Only an hour or two for a break

Holidays and vacations
Backpacking, trekking, walking
Non-stop touring, shopping and eating
Hardly need any rest at all

There will come a time when
When I pine for days gone by
Yet I have to shake my head
And say  ‘I am too old for this’
