The Ellendale neighborhood is difficult to make out because it has very poorly defined boundaries. Starting on Interstate 44 near Wellington Avenue, the west boundary travels north and slightly east cutting through Manhattan Avenue, Oxford Boulevard, following Limit Avenue for a short period of time, until finally reaching Mitchell Avenue. The streets that make up the northern border are Mitchell Avenue, Plateau Avenue, Dale Avenue and Manchester Avenue. Sublette Avenue and January Avenue both create the eastern boundary. From January Avenue the border takes a right on to Columbia Avenue and travels west, then north on Sulphur Avenue, west on Elizabeth Avenue, north on Knox Avenue, east on Wilson Avenue where finally it meets (slightly north from this point) with Interstate 44. Interstate 44 creates the entire southern boundary. For more detailed location information, click

Both Franz Square and Francis R. Slay Park are located within the Ellendale neighborhood. To the north is Forest Park. Within Forest Park is the Dwight Davis Tennis Center, Jewel Box, the St. Louis Zoo, Turtle Playground, Grand Basin, the St. Louis Art Museum Café, and the Highlands Golf and Tennis Center. Also in this direction are Forest Park Hospital, SSM Rehab-St. Mary’s Health Center, Tuscany Park, Concordia Seminary and Fontbonne College. Clifton Heights, Sublette, Berra and Tower Grove parks are all to the east of Ellendale. To the east is also the Missouri Botanical Garden. To the south is Tilles Park, Lindenwood Park, Francis Park and the Hampton Village Shopping Center.
