I’ve been waiting here for a while,
Seeking the words that make me smile.
Just one word I yearn to hear,
To wipe away this single tear.
Their just words I will admit,
But to the meaning I do submit.
I need to hear the words that make me smile,
To get me through this extra mile.
It could be a simple gesture,
So these thoughts no longer fester.
I need to hear them one more time,
So this mountain I can climb.
I will climb this mountain to the top,
Until I reach it, I will not stop.
If I make it all the while,
I'll need those words that make me smile.
