It slithered through unfamiliar territories.
It squashed people with brutal force.
It conquered nations through lust and greed.
It was never satisfied with the status quo.
It took its victims one...two or three at a time.
It eagerly devoured all sorts of individuals.
The ugly, the beautiful, the rich, the poor.
Sometimes it slaughtered entire communities.
It took on various meanings, forms and names.
It manipulated so many willing and grateful victims.
Known around the planet by this moniker: Success.
