Poetry: Meaningless words

by Gary Maclean

Created on: November 19, 2011   Last Updated: January 04, 2012

You ramble on
Trying hard to protect yourself
If you stop now
You will incriminate yourself

You've been out late
Now you come home to suspicion
You trip on words
Due to your guilty position

Meaningless words
There's no legitimate excuse
For your dally
Other than loose women or booze

Don't cry to me
You scornful, wicked, low-down dog
It's all your fault
You forsook your life for that hog.

Now you have lost
Your meaningless words mean but naught
You chose your bed
Admit it, you played and got caught
