Neighborhood guide: Kings Oak in St. Louis, MO

Kings Oak is a neighborhood that is located in the city of St. Louis in the state of Missouri. This is a small neighborhoos and the population of the area is really low because there are industrial businesses and schools that take up much room leaving little room for residential homes. This neighborhood rests at an elevation of 489 feet above sea level. Other nearby neighborhoods include Forests Park Southeast, Rock Springs, Shaw, The Hill, Central West End and a few more less than 2 miles away. Kings Oak spans an area of 0.212 square miles and has a population of only 247. In this area, the transportation system is served by highways, roads, streets, avenues, plazas and boulevards.  This neighborhood dates back to 1904. This is a nice neighborhood to visit if you are on vacation. This neighborhood offers so much for the whole family to enjoy.

The Kings Oak neighborhood originated soon after the 1904 World's Fair. The houses were Dutch Colonial Styles. In this neighborhood, you can still see the detailed woodwork, art glass, and many decorative light fixtures. Kings Oak has about 80 homes. Kings Oak is home to St. Louis University High School and the St. Louis Science Center. The Kings Oak Community Housing Corporation plays a very important role in enhancing the homes in this area. The Kings Oak Science Center features exhibits and studies and draws visitors from near and far. There are quite a few hotels, motels and inns that are located in and around this neighborhood. They offer excellent accommodations to visitors. There are bars, pubs and nightclubs located in the area that offer excellent entertainment for the nightlife.

Many fine restaurants and fast food places make their home in Kings Oak too. These restaurants serve a variety of cuisine that includes Mexican, American, Italian, seafood, bakery and much more. To the north of King Oak is Oakland Avenue and to the east is Kingshighway Boulevard. Kings Oak is bordered by Manchester Avenue to the south and Macklind Avenue to the west. Baseball fields and horse stables are located nearby. Compton Drew Investigative Learning School is also located in Kings Oak. This neighborhood is also home to distribution centers, warehouses and wholesale suppliers. The whole neighborhood is reall attractive. There is also a pet park that is located directly across from the Humane Society. Many people who have pets take them to the pet park.
