Alcoholism: How arrogance can lead to a relapse

Alcoholism is often perceived as a condition, a habit and a disorder. When done in excess and in a continuous manner, it is a condition which is uncontrollable in many ways. When considered premature but manageable, it is a habit or a routine that depends on the capacity of the human body to withstand volume intake and alcohol content. When it becomes chronic and psychological in nature, it is a kind of a disorder that even the sight and smell of alcohol can bring out high and stuporous effect. It then results to damages to some vital organs and cells that complicate and deter normal nutritional and mental functions.

Alcohol is the reason why arrogance comes into the picture. Because of adventurous arrogance and fun, alcohol becomes an easy access and an instant companion. It stirs a person's mind to look careless, offensive and carefree. It leads the individual to appear airy, boastful and overconfident. It supplies someone with a spirit to exaggerate and to give oneself some sort of recognition, attention and importance. It teaches someone to deny others' opinions and suggestions. It makes somebody to be one-sided and to feel being upright and appropriate. It is a devil's advocate for being hardheaded, overbearing and violent. It even tricks the consumer to belittle positive reminders like that of a doctor's advice.

Different kinds of persons have become arrogant because of alcoholism. They are husbands and wives who have relationships on the rocks and who tease their spouses through drinking sprees and late night outs. They are teenagers who are lost in the process because of wrong family upbringing. They are the alcohol amateurs and veterans who unceasingly dare and savor the wild experiences, energy and fun. They are the curious and the misguided brats who are influenced by some sectors and by the media that commonly depict the forbidden, the famous and the exciting products. They can be the gallivanting students who defy parental and academic rules and regulations. They are the impulsive motorists who insist to drive after imbibing an over the limit alcohol level. And they are the sad, the lonely and the depressed persons who turn to alcoholism in order to temporarily avoid a problematic situation.

As a consequence, alcohol patients or weak alcoholics are doomed to relapses. In this way, they commit suicide in the guise of an open or a secret drinking binge. They bring back psychological, physical and mental disorders that mar ordinary events. They have questionable sanity which is covertly lured by drinking sessions, bar hopping and other wild adventures. They don't have the change of attitudes and that their activities are engaged in going to the hospitals, rehabilitation centers and jails. They abhor better lives again. They prefer to destroy their image and existence. Just like the drug addicts, the alcoholics often don't grow old. They just die young.
