Never in a million years,
Did it seem that it could be true,
To be without that smile, that laugh,
To have to live without you,
Preparations they were all made.
The plans were all in place.
It was the finality of that day.
As life left that loving face,
It might as well have been,
A surprise, a fate unknown,
All of a sudden, as we were told,
You no longer would be home.
