Alone it is a wonderful treat,
Though adding a few little things,
That is what makes the dinner sweet,
The extras are everything.
It cannot be exact what it means,
Because to each his own,
Truly, the extras make it seem,
To belong, to feel like home,
All the trimmings, don’t forget,
You know the things that make it great.
Whatever they are, you can bet,
It will be worth the weight.
Yes, you know what it means,
It does not ever have to be said,
Whether served with just the beans,
Or a sandwich on some bread.
The trimmings are the special part,
That thanks are giving for.
All the trimmings from the start,
Just makes you ask for more.

Poetry: All of the trimmings
by Autumn Glatz
When you say 'all of the trimmings'
some people think of food and thanksgiving
but i think of the missing pieces of someones
Alone it is a wonderful treat,
Though adding a few little things,
That is what makes the dinner sweet,
The extras are everything.
This Thanksgiving everyone expects all of the trimmings,
But, I am not sure.
So much food is on my mind. It would be cruel.
