How To Pick a Blog Name

Blogs are great because they are informative, entertaining and many times full of original content.  Blogs are like websites they can get lost in the blogosphere unless traffic is generated and the blog is found online. The blog's name is the most important element for traffic and to be found on the Internet.

What's in a name
The blog name has to call attention to the blog but at the same time be related to the topic and content of the blog.  If you keep these two elements in mind then he blog will be named successfully.  An example: say you have a blog that talks about daily events on the news with no specific content. The blog could be named sheblogsdaily, it describes and says what the blog is about;virtually everything that the author writes on a daily basis.  

How to name the blog
Sometimes the right words to title your blog can be difficult to find because the title should describe the content in the minimalist terms.  How does the author write a title that says what the blog is about in one word.  Think in those terms, the best method is to play with keywords that describe what the content of your blog will be.  An example: The blog is about miniature portraits, keywords used are vintage portraits, vintage mini portraits, and  old portraits and signed miniatures. 

The title should be memorable
The title of the website should be memorable so that the user can easily recall the site address.  An example would be a title like crazy Eddie, his motto was that his prices were so low they had to be insane.  Although, the business is closed and the owner is jailed.  The name of the business resonates til this day because he drew a relationship of why the business was named crazy Eddie because the prices were insane.  If a title or name  can define their blog by their motto, that will help to create a good descriptive title.

The Title as marketing tool
The title is very important element of the blog because it is the main method of locating the site, so in essence it is the marketing tool for the search engines.  If the title doesn't have a memorable name to locate the blog, it will be lost as so many blogs on the Internet.  

In summary, the Blog title is an important element of the blog, it is the traffic generator.  The blog title describes the blog in one or two words so when the author picks the name for the blog, these elements should be present to ensure that the blog is named successfully.
