Well hello there, pretty barista
Doubt the coffee’s as smokin’ as you
I provide the smile, the charm, the look
The smirk, the charisma, the woo
You were oh-so-professional
Bland processional
With service exceptional
Asking what I would like, take my time
I was distracted
“Surprise me.”
You chuckled, you shrugged
You went to the back
You chose something nice
Hot, fragrant, and black
But I had expected to drink
Only natural to think
That you would provide such delight
But the true pay-off found
Was not in the grounds
But in the serendipitous date
