Loud And Clear

When you stoop to loud discussions
you better know there’ll be repercussions.
When frustrations loom and anger soars
and you just can’t take it any more
and tempers flare to roaring flames,
you accuse and then each other blame
the neighbors hear you loud and clear;
Oh they are listening, have no fear
and are taking note of every word
though they may not know just what they heard.

Now they’re spreading gossip all around
to everyone they know in town
about the angry voices heard next door.
It’s not just your quarrel anymore.
Your life, your business is a dispute shared
that spread like wildfire everywhere
‘til it comes back to you again,
embellished by the gossip chain.

Though words are shouted loud and clear,
who really knows what the neighbors hear.
It’s best to speak softly or hold your peace
if you don’t want troubles to increase.
Shouting never solves a thing
and only will more quarrels bring.
