A timely completion of a project is easier said than done.
First off, too many times a project is grossly underestimated as far as the time requirements to complete.
The mind works much quicker than real time, on hands way of figuring how much time is needed to do so.
So in order to get it down properly, one must go through the project a couple of times in order to account for anything that may cause delays.
Too often a project is handed out only to find that it takes longer. This causes frustration with both the project manager and who is responsible for handling the project.
The manager thinks it should have been done in a certain amount of time, but in reality, too many variables kept it from being done.
The old saying,"Plan your work and then work your plan" is a good one to follow.
How can you plan a job mentally and expect it to work? The mind is capable of putting things together and makes sense at the time, but all the obstacles that crop up put the best laid plans in the drink.
So in doing what is required for a project so as to estimate the time it should take, will in fact enable an accurate assessment of how long it should be expected for who is doing the project to complete it.
