Poetry: Reflections of reality

by Chuck Maddock

Created on: November 06, 2011   Last Updated: November 08, 2011

For sometime in the corner of my mind there grows a seed
It causes me to think of things unkind when put to act and deed
It is, as if, a mirrored reflection is shone as an altered reality
My past memories are a collection in my mind of coming fatality

When given to make a choice, between the virtue of right or wrong
I hear an inner nagging voice, proclaiming in rhyming persistent song
That in my new found reality, I should act and do the same to many or few
That all in the world of humanity, will feel the hate and scorn, that I now do

The headline of tomorrow's news. will relate a reflection of my new reality
With cause and devotion to use. my acts and deeds will exist in an actuality
I intend to harm and maim, the very reality that others hold and claim
No need to call me by name, for it's in calamity's fame I now take aim

Still, harbored in a part of me, is a lingering spark of goodness and grace
But in the grips of this reality, please forgive what I do to the human race
