Poetry: If I had a million dollars

by Deny Jane Pascua

Created on: November 06, 2011   Last Updated: November 07, 2011

If heaven opened up and flooded me with a torrential blessing,
In the form of a million dollars, I would hold it tight.
Who wants to be a millionaire? Majority of us I’m sure.
Just like Santa I will conjure a list – of who’s naughty and nice.

Top of the list – family of course: mom, dad, and brother.
Big brother will be worthy of a plush bachelor’s pad and a shiny sports car.
Dad and mom will retire to a beach-front house.
Live like a royalty with servants all around.

Relatives who care about me they will get some.
But those who are oblivious to my existence I’ll think twice.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth
It may not sound nice but it’s the real world.

Lastly, it’s all about me.
Lavishly reward myself without limits.
From the likes of Gucci watches, Guess jeans, and Louis Vuitton bags,
Add a modern-day condo and a yellow Lamborghini.

There are no limits to a daydream,
And this for sure is what I have in mind.
