Best anti-aging products for eyes

by Anne StClair

There are thousands of anti-aging products for eyes on the market, and some cost a fortune, with no guarantee that they will work.

The best and simplest anti-aging products for eyes, however, are incredibly cheap and have been found to work effectively for many generations. Here are just a few suggestions:

CUCUMBERS
Slice a cucumber and settle down on a bed or couch and place one slice over each eye. Leave the cucumber in place for ten minutes or so. This will remove any redness from the eyes, and will relieve tired eyes, and rejuvenate the skin around the eyes.
The cucumber also reduces any puffiness or dark circles.

This simple idea is so effective that companies have recognized this and tried to capitalize on it by making commercial products such as "cucumber eye pads". They may work nearly as well as the real thing but why throw your money away on products like these when you can simply buy a cucumber and slice it?

MILK
Milk is another product known for generations to be good for the skin, especially in the region of the eyes. To give your eyes a lift, soak two cotton balls with chilled milk and place them over your closed eyes.

This will relieve tired, red eyes, and soothe the skin around the eyes.
Incidentally, if your eyes are tired and sore, you will create more eyelines by "scrunching" up your eyes to relieve them. Try to keep the skin around your eyes relaxed. Always wear sunglass outside to help prevent your eyes aging prematurely, and always ensure there is adequate light when using the computer.

CHAMOMILE TEA
You can use chamomile tea in the same way as milk in the process described above. Chamomile is relaxing to the skin as well as relaxing to drink.

SLEEP
Sleep is nature's best anti-aging product, and it's free, so make sure you get a good night's sleep every night. Too little sleep can make your eyes look puffy, swollen and leave ugly dark circles under your eyes.

To help you sleep, try drinking chamomile tea an hour before bedtime. If you have lavender, cut a few sprigs and place either in the underside of your pillow or in a separate bag under your pillow. If no lavender is available, you can use lavender oil or a lavender based incense instead.

AVOID ALCOHOL AND CAFFEINE
Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine before bedtime because they are stimulants, and because too much alcohol or caffeine is known to age the skin prematurely. Alcohol and caffeine can both produce puffy, swollen eyes.

Looking after your eyes and preventing them from aging prematurely does not mean you need to buy expensive products. The simple remedies really do work, and they cost little or nothing.
