Greed man, greed
It was getting harder to find money to buy some weed
The dealer kept upping the price for drugs like speed
I was going broke trying to afford my need
Greed man, greed
It was costing so much to get a feed
I thought I'd try growing the weed from the seed
Home grown was cheaper, all my mates agreed
Greed man, greed
When my plantation got busted I had to accede
That the bail was too much to see me freed
I wish I never started to cultivate that blasted weed
Greed man, greed
My lawyer wanted five thousand to guarantee a good result to my not guilty plead
Money down the drain. My stomach felt like it had just been kneed
When the jury returned guilty, I just stood there and peed
Greed man, greed
Ten years in jail for just growing some weed
I've lost everything because of my need
Greed man, greed
