My happiness on hold today,
Until I scratch an instant.
The paycheck’s small; there’s bills to pay-
But the fever is insistent.
A million dollar remedy,
Will cure my great addiction.
Small fortune spent on lotteries,
Prolongs this life of fiction.
I’m due to win; strike gold, and then-
My dreams will all be realized.
I’ll buy a boat and chase the wind,
Set sail upon a fool’s tide.
For when a million’s quickly spent,
I’ll need a million more.
And I’ll be back to paying rent,
On dreams I can’t afford...
Contented souls own lives of worth,
All for a million reasons.
They sow their blessings in the earth,
Reap laughter every season.

I would pay off all my debts
Probably just like you!
But what about
