Airing on July 22, 2003, Nip/Tuck is said to be a "disturbingly perfect drama". It is about two best friends, Christian and Sean, who own a Cosmetic Surgery practice in the heart of the corrupted vanity city of Miami, Florida. This racy, provoking, erotic soap opera type show must be doing something right, since it is getting rave reviews and quite a following with its twisted plots and intriguing characters.
Main Cast:
Dr. Sean McNamara- Dylan Walsh
Dr. Christian Troy- Julian McMahon
Julia McNamara- Joely Richardson
Dr. Liz Cruz- Roma Maffia
Matt McNamara- John Hensley
Kimber Henry- Kelly Carlson
What makes this show so interesting is how different the two surgeons are. Christian is a womanizing pretty boy who is really self-conscious deep down inside, while Sean is a righteous do-gooder who is outwardly self-conscious. Over time, they seem to switch places. This is mostly attributed to "the grass is greener on the other side complex" because Christian feels his hole inside of him without a family of his own and fills it by sleeping with as many woman in Miami as he can, while Sean has been stuck in the family life and craves more experience.
Season Plot Summaries
Within the show the two doctors are involved in many crazy events. The first season's crisis had to do with a Columbian drug lord named Escobar Gallardo. Without giving away the reasons, let's just say that Sean and especially Christian were forever in his debt because of something they were involved in. Gallardo makes their lives a living hell, while the two doctors are desperately trying to think a way out. In the meantime, Sean is having problems in his marriage with his stay at home mom and wife named Julia, and Christian finds out about a baby that is possibly his.
Season two is full of secrets which slowly leak out of everyone's closets. From paternity issues to relationships with secretive transsexuals, there is never a dull moment. Sean is also having medical problems with his hand, and he must figure out a way around it unless he wants to lose the practice.
In season three, Christian and Sean are repairing the victims of someone dubbed "The Carver". When this masked phantom threatens their lives if they continue to fix his work, the plot escalates into a series of events you will not want to miss. Between Sean's interest in another woman who isn't Julia and this bloody mess made by a criminal, Christian and Sean are in for a bumpy ride. Along with all the drama that's going on, Sean and Christian
