The perfect bridal shop will only be the perfect bridal shop because it is where you will find your perfect wedding dress. Start by looking on-line or asking friends about bridal shops for ideas. The first thing you will definitely want to do is find stores that are not completely out of your price range. Many bridal shops have a wide range of prices, some will have a large selection of high-priced gowns.

The second thing you want to keep in mind is how far in advance you are looking. If you do not have much time left before the wedding, then you will want to find a store that can accommodate speedy alterations and/or a large selection of sizes for each gown.

My perfect bridal shop was "Berti's Bridal" in Boca Raton, Florida. The pricing was moderate for what I was looking for, and they had what I call "designer knockoffs," which was a collection of their own gowns designed to resemble high-end fashion. They were able to order my dress in my length, and they had an excellent seamstress in the store who did all the alterations and the bustle right there so it was easy for me to come back in case something needed more than one fitting (which it didn't!). Another thing that was great was we were able to get my veil, slip, and all of the tuxes in the same store.

All of those things were just bonuses though, because what made the boutique perfect was the beautiful white gown that made me cry when I tried it on!
