Imagine if you will that the unimaginable happens. Whether it is a meteor strike, massive earthquake destruction around the globe or a brilliant computer hacker that has infiltrated every major system and shut them down.
Could you cope? Think of the long-term possibilities. There would be massive runs on every grocery store, gas station, and every major retail chain like Walmart, Target, K-mart, Dollar General etc., from people trying to grab any supplies possible. What happens when you run out of those supplies?
Sure the government may be able to help temporarily and the Red Cross and similar organizations will be able to help until their supplies are gone too. But then what? Are you going to be able to take care of your family or yourself and survive?

Remember, times will be dangerous and if you think you can stay in your home and be safe, you are wrong. Desperate people will break into your home to take whatever they can to enable themselves to survive.
If you are afraid of guns, you either need to get over it or you better learn how to use a bow and arrow. Either may save your life against all predators; including other human beings. Heading for the hills, so to speak with camping gear, fishing poles and a gun, may be your only chance of making it.
Foods
Knowing what foods you can eat safely is important. Nuts, berries, plants and animals will make a difference. Whether you read up on it or carry a complete book with you will prevent serious errors. Some plants and berries are poisonous, whereas some can be used for medicinal
