Romans 9:18-23 …” Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory”…
We can try to answer this question with a couple of simple comparisons, using common logic that will always come to the same conclusion. Is a carpenter responsible for the sawdust and bent nails, and pieces of discarded lumber all over the ground? Is the lady of the house responsible for the piles of trash left out on the curb to be picked up by the garbage collectors? The conclusion is yes, because of the simple word “responsible”. If it weren’t so, then the trash would be all over the house, and the carpenter would not have completed his task. Logic always concludes that for one to make an omelet, it is first necessary to break a few eggs. The logic of understanding, that all of us mortals possess, is enough to appreciate what the Creator does with what He created, and to also understand that if He created it, then He can do with it as He chooses, this is simple common logic. In this article, we will look at some aspects as to why God is not only responsible for good and bad, but we will also look at the reason why.
Let’s first consider the power of this ONE we all have grown to know as God. One who is able to spread out the universe like a tent, and say that it is His throne? This is the One who is able to say that the Earth is His footstool, simply because it is coming from someone that has unimaginable power, to say the least! In just these statements about Himself alone, we who can come up with reasonable and logical conclusions, can determine for ourselves that all that He has done is for our benefit, so that we can better understand just exactly who we are dealing with. It is obvious that we are not even in His league when it comes to power, and if indeed everything we see around us is His handy work, we must
