In these trying economic times, one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family is to create an additional stream of income. An additional stream of income is anything you do that brings in extra cash. With the internet, it is easy to advertise your extra services. You can build your own website, or you can advertise on Craigslist, which functions as a national bulletin board. Many people find that their side work also provides them with more autonomy than their regular day job, and that it allows them to meet and interact with people in their neighborhood.
Like any successful entrepreneur, you’ll need to do your homework about what the going rates are, and what are the demands of your community. Here are some suggestions to earn an additional income stream. Some people become so proficient at their second job, that they are able to leave their primary job.
*Dogwalking. Walking dogs has become big business in certain towns. Either you go into people houses and apartments and walk the canines yourself, or you hire someone once the caseload gets too big. For dogs who need more exercise than the stroll around the block, you can offer high energy runs through the woods.
*Children’s Services. Working families need many services for their families, whether it is babysitting, tutoring, cooking or catering. If your clients know that your services are valuable to their household, they will be happy to hire you.
*Garage Sales. Garage Sales aren’t for the intrepid anymore. Some people collect and sell items regularly at garage sales. You can find a niche market for yourself, such as jewelry, children’s clothing, or old instruments. The more you specialize, the easier it is to reach your target audience.
*Ebay Auctions. Develop your collections and get going on Ebay! Consumers have come to depend on cheaper priced items on Ebay.
*Selling books on Amazon.com. There is a growing demand for used books. Many customers realize they don’t have to have a new copy to read it. Some entrepenuers turn their basements into libraries by going to garage sales, library sales, and find they can make some real bucks selling books on the internet.
*Web Design. Since every business needs a website, there are many opportunities for web designing. Once you own a computer, you can learn about web design.
*Network marketing. While once scorned, many people find that network marketing can generate significant amount of revenues. This is ideal if you are a persuasive salesman. Otherwise, stick to babysitting.
