Out of Order a Poem
A gas pump with its nozzles bagged
It is
Out of order
The change machine at a highway rest stop
It is
Out of order
The public restroom when you can’t wait
It is
Out of order
The copy machine at the library needs toner
It is
Out of order
The ATM when you need cash
It is
Out of order
The elevator when your meeting is on the 50th floor
It is
Out of order
Life does not bring about structure
It will always be
Out of order

What’s
Lost and afraid, alone and hiding...
Too many questions, not enough answers...
Chaos and mayhem reign in this life of mine.
