Dressing and preparing for a “hot” date is really no different from preparing for any other special event. Of course, every woman wants to look her very best for a prospective suitor, however, the best way is to put your best foot forward as you would for any other memorable occasion; and be yourself.
First on the agenda should be an excursion to your favourite hairstylist. A freshly done coif is a great confidence booster. Furthermore, men seem to appreciate a healthy mane with volume. Stick with a simple, effortless looking style, like straight with blunt bangs or a soft beach wave.
Now, it’s off to the manicurist. Chipped nails and a strappy sandal with toes peeking out screaming for a pedicure; will surely turn your date off with one glance. Take the time to have a fresh manicure and pedicure done for the big night. Your fella will surely take notice, as you share a glass of wine over dinner, or take an evening stroll on the beach.
We’ve made it to the halfway mark where it’s time to choose just the right outfit. Many women make the mistake of thinking, “the skimpier the better” when it comes to dressing for a date. Men don’t necessarily find this style choice to be most attractive. In fact, many men have negative impressions about women who dress this way. Dressing sexy for a date doesn’t mean showing the majority of your skin. Sexy could be the perfect cut jeans, a feminine top or even a fragrance, which hits just the right notes. Musky and floral scents seem to be most appealing to men, however, be careful not to use a heavy hand. You don’t want to overwhelm your date; just a hint of the perfect scent is ideal.
In choosing your ensemble for the evening, it’s best to go for an effortless look, even though it may have taken you hours to prepare. If your choice is a dress, choose something flowy and feminine with a great evening sandal. If slacks or jeans are your preference, choose a great cut that enhances your assets with a blouse and accessories that also flatter. Keep in mind your date will most likely last for hours if all goes well, dress for comfort so you don’t have regrets midway into the date. And remember, this is not the time to experiment with a new hairstyle or attire. Stick with what you know works and has proven to be most flattering. Essentially, be true to yourself.
Okay, so it’s hours until your date arrives, and you want to do something imaginative and special for him to begin the evening ahead. Your date may arrive with a bouquet of flowers in hand at the onset of your night out, but how many times have you heard of a woman presenting a special token in exchange? Perhaps he’s shared with you a particular book he’s been meaning to read, or a DVD on his list of movies to rent, maybe he’s mentioned a CD he’d like to own.
In any case, have something prepared to give your date. He will most likely be very impressed. Chances are this may be a first for him. Down to the final minutes before his arrival, you have all the makings for a winning date, revel in an amazing night out on the town.
