For all the love of life, the laughter, the tears, the pains and the joys
I can not imagine the torment of time behind bars, spending each moment
Locked away, for what seems forever, for some it is, forever
Taken away from family and friends, breathing what smells like death
And for what, one stupid mistake after another, didn't listen to who spoke so clear
Lived for a moment, a moment long gone in time, just doesn't make sense
Teach the children now, before they grow to become an inmate, scared straight, before its too late
I too was locked up, for just one night, scared me to think this is someones life
I only wish we can teach our children now, before it is to late....
Somewhere in a prison, there is someone wishing they were taught, but now it is to late
