There is both media hype and true threat within global warming.

The industry of the media is to sensationalize, and to create hype and buzz. Threat must be reborn daily, for news shows to have something to report. Corporations who sponsor the news, have a vested interest in convincing you they are the good guys.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether Global warming itself is a hoax, a conspiracy, or a real problem. Global warming, the anthropic aspect, (man- made), is a real problem. Too much hot air over the issue does nothing to decrease our real dilemma.

There are of course real problems created by humans, few debate that.  Climate change does of course happen in geologic time, but so does the rise and fall of every species ever created. Those who think that global warming is a hoax are often of the same fringe that believe all problems are rooted in vast conspiracies designed for political agendas of various kinds. That our world is often influenced by the party with the fringe on top is not only sad, but exceedingly dangerous. It is the same as giving up in despair; that is, denying it, and/or blaming others.

Projection is a psychological defense mechanism all humans naturally are endowed with for coping in difficult situations. In this instance however, denial of the problem is extremely destructive, because all organisms on the planet depend upon keeping air, water, soil, and food available for all organisms to continue to co-create LIFE. Seven billion of one species is not a balance. It is a tragedy unfolding in all the places we cringe about, war, poverty, pollution, epidemics, famine, loss of crops, species, and space, are the symptoms.

We change the channel, or rush to find someone else to blame. Or, paving the road to hell with good intentions, we recycle, and believe everyone must be doing their part, because every single Corporation has jumped on the Go Green band wagon to hell.

It is quite disturbing to see that nearly 50% of Helium voters believe the actual warming of the earth is a hoax. Global cooling and warming is an ongoing reality throughout the geological record. The only difference is that humans are affecting it now. Do these people think that pollution, and billions of tons of CO2 have no effects? Do they think that deforestation and its erosion, acidification of oceans, extinction of species, and desertification are all made up by nefarious scientists?
