The drama of young girls and why it's important to listen

Young girls are very hormonal creatures. I remember the teen years I was an emotional basket case. During our teen years, we are learning about life, and developing crushes on boys, and their bodies are changing also. This can be a bit much to handle all at once.

Remember that in your young daughter's life, everything is a big deal. At this point in life, they still can not grasp that everything doesn't have to be so serious. The smallest thing (like a bad grade on a test) mitght send her into a fit of tears.

Be supportive. Listen to your child. Keep the lines of communication open. Love and accept. Be supportive, even if they are going a hundred miles a minute and you can not understand a word they say.

Remember what it is like to be your child's age. This can be an overwhelming time in their life. They are insecure and paranoid. They are trying to learn all they can but, still they are unsure about the future.

Spend time with your child. Take them shopping or do girly stuff. Help them with makeup tips. Ask them if there is anything that they would like to know. An open relationship is a good one. You don't want your child to think that you do not care or they do not matter. Never stop listening.
