If you're looking for playground exercises and ideas to keep you fit while playing with your children, your best bet is to start before you even reach the playground. In other words, park as far away from the playground as possible, or if it isn't too far from home, walk instead of driving. You'll burn a couple hundred calories before you even get there.
When you arrive at the playground, race your kids to a favorite piece of equipment such as the monkey bars or the "big" slide. Be silly, have fun, and most all keep moving. Have contests with your kids, your spouse, or anyone else who comes along to the playground so you can really push yourself.
Bring along a ball or other sports gear and play catch, chase the ball, or play other active games that include different equipment. If there's a basketball court, get a game going or play horse. These are great ways to keep in shape and keep your kids fit too.
When it's time to go, gather everyone up and take a walk around the playground to cool down. You should all be happily tired, but refreshed at the same time. Try to make visiting the playground a regular outing. The fresh air, exercise, and quality time spent playing with your children will do you and them- good.
