Inside my purse, I kept my life
Through pictures, credit cards, and checks,
Old business cards from lovers past,
Stale Life Savers stuck to cards.
Inside my purse, you'd see my life
In my awkward license shot,
In the gift cards still unspent,
In the crumpled appointment slips.
Inside my purse, there was my life
But now that life's been torn away
By thieves who only wanted cash,
Who most likely tossed the life away.
