The Crucifixion
Within the distance upon a hill
Seeing crowds almost standing still
While perched unto window sill
The skyline beheld three trees
The distance was so great
I got up, raised to my feet
Followed the crowd into the street
Drawing closer a man so beaten
He was beyond recognition
Soldiers drove spike nails unto his feet and hands
Crying silently within , I could not watch ; turned my head.
The tree was raised , his body wrenched
Someone said it was Jesus, the King of The Jews
With shame from all guilt, went home and wept
This man had done nothing wrong I said...
The earth had shook, the sky turned dark
Cries and moans were about; others were shouting about.
I believe Jesus died He paid my debt.
Three days later his body is missed
He was seen by many; a new life instead.
Christ Jesus is resurrection of life.
being The Cross upon the hill
Knowing one great man whom paid the bill.
Yet He loved us still while upon a tree.
He forgave you and me.
So ashamed with head bowed,
On fallen knees and prayer.
No longer living the past.
All is forgotten, clean at last!

The cross is where I fell on my face and wept - wept from my sin - wept for joy

Traveling alone as the sun hunkered down
and slipped through the trees just outside of town,
I was concerned with the long
That Old Hunk of Wood
It wasn't carved by artists' hands,
inlaid with purest gold,
admired for its beauty
or the treasure
