Beauty mistakes that are damaging your love life

When you first started dating your husband, he thought you must have woken up looking perfect.  Possibly because you made sure you woke up an hour before him to brush your teeth and refresh your make-up before climbing back into bed and waking him up.  Do you ever wonder what he thinks now?  The following are things to avoid on your road to beauty, to keep the magic in your love life!

1. Do not crush his illusions:

Whether you really are or not, your husband thinks you are beautiful because he loves you.  So, why convince him differently?  Stop complaining about how fat, short, thin, wrinkled, stretched or spotted you are.  Often people fail to notice imperfections until they are pointed out to them.   Once brought to light however, imperfections can be hard to ignore.   So maybe don't remove his rose-coloured glasses! Do you really wanted him to notice your crooked tooth, big nose or hairy mole?  Also, complaining about your own flaws either sounds annoying or like you are begging for false compliments.  Cut it out!

2. Do not waste romantic time making yourself beautiful for later!

Who are you trying to impress anyway - Hubby or random strangers? Have you ever sat at home with hubby with a big bag tied around your stinky dye- soaked hair, or gone to bed wearing a gooey face mask?  Do you like it when he cuts his toe-nails on the couch or when he runs in to take a dump while you are trying to brush your teeth?  Same thing.  It's hard enough to stay attracted to the same person as their body falls apart with age... why add to the gross factor of the body's natural degenerative process.  Dye your hair, wax your chin, and buff your feet when hubby isn't home.  Encourage him to do the same, by the way.

3. Throw out your granny panties!

Even if you are actually a granny, throw out your ugly, ripped, stained or non-fitting underwear!  While making our bodies and outerwear beautiful we often forget how important lingerie is to the average man!  Imagine his shock when you peel off your slinky leopard print dress, and he see baggy white granny panties and an ugly old bra underneath.  Talk about shattering romantic illusions.  It doesn't matter what your body looks like underneith the dress - he'll appreciate your assets more if you spruce them up a bit!

4.  Scratchy, rough skin, stubble and nails are a turn-off!

Don't fool yourself into thinking men don't actually appreciate the manicure-pedicures they complain about you getting!  No man likes to cuddle up to his wife to be stabbed and jabbed by sharp toe-nails, rough elbows or unruly stubble.   While hubby might not ever mention or outwardly appreciate your personal hygiene measures - he'll notice if you let yourself go!   So, maintain your finger and toe nails, shave your unwanted body hair (try trimming down below for good measure, or at least your bikini line), and buff out rough spots like your heels, toes, knees and elbows.

5. Don't break the bank buying beauty products!

The wide array of beauty products the average woman buys can cost a lot of money.  Don't add to this expense by purchasing over-priced items without a reason.  Do you really NEED $150 face cream or $65 lipstick, or will a more reasonably priced brand do?  You may look like a million bucks, but hubby won't appreciate you much if you cost your family budget a million bucks to look that way!
