Crime City is a game in which the player works their way up through the criminal world to become a mob boss. The game has revolutionary game play which makes it the first of a new hybrid genre. The game was created for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch by Funzio Inc and it is currently free to download; however there are in app purchases.
 
Crime City looks just like another Mafia Wars clone from the outside, but once players start the game, they will realise just different and special this game is. Crime City mixes the Mafia Wars style ability, statistics and progression game play with the grow over time city simulation style game such as Tap Town. This combination is a true revolution in the genre and brings new life to the tired Mafia Wars MMORPG engine.

 
Instead of the game taking place purely as words on the screen, the player is taken into a 3D world where everything comes to life. Each mission, rather than just appearing in a list and seeing the word complete appear, takes place on the map with the player's avatar carrying out the act on people or buildings. In addition to this the player has their own hood which they are able to develop just like normal city simulation games. All of the buildings provide income or boost statistics, making the development just as important as the missions.
 
Just as every clone of the famous Mafia Wars, this game gives players energy, health, money and stamina. These factors regenerate over time giving a limit to how much a player can achieve at one sitting. As the city development feature has been added, meaning players have to wait for property to be built and the incomes mature, there is now even more reason to come back after a rest.
 
The idea to mix these genres is absolute genius and it is amazing that it has not been done before, or at least not on a game that has become highly popular. This truly has put an end to the old Mafia Wars engine and will bring players back to the genre who had grown bored.
 
The graphics of Crime City are a massive step up from what has gone before. The game feels like an older GTA rather than a Mafia Wars clone. The 3D environments, including the ability to visit other's hoods, really brings the game to life in a whole new way. The game play is top notch and everything users will expect from the combination of genres. Crime City is one of the best and most revolutionary games on the iTunes app store and it is highly recommended to fans of Mafia Wars and FarmVille alike!
