In my opinion, retirement is the perfect career choice only when you do not find complete satisfaction with your work. Obviously when you do not interested on what you are doing, you cannot do the work with whole heart. This leads to unintentional mistakes. So you cannot find happiness at your work. So, in such case , retirement is the perfect choice career. Because, now you can spend all 24 hours in your own interested field. This gives you satisfaction and happiness. But before jumping to retirement plan, there are many issues to consider:

How will you survive without a paid job?
What are your interesting fields?
Is there any demand for your interests in the present market?
Can you get relax with your retirement?
How to stand in the market if you are new-comer?
How about your family and dependants if you leave your job?
Are there any partners or friends who can adjust you some money?
What if your plan fails?

If you have right answers to all these questions then no doubt you can take retirement and can utilize your time in your own way and can live life in your own style.
