I never aimed or claimed to be
a dining connoisseur,
but I know exactly what I like
of that much I am sure.
I know that certain foods taste good
and long to just indulge
In little bites of chocolate
but then I see the bulge
I beg for just one morsel
to fall upon my plate,
of a food I am forbidden,
a food I love and hate.
For my diet can't be broken,
Though sometimes foods appear
as if by magic in my fridge.
Well, they're already here.
So when the house is quiet
Under the cloak of night
I sneak into the kitchen
for one surreptitious bite.
