Why community college might be the best choice

1) Community college is a LOT less expensive than beginning your freshman year at a University.
2) If you spend your first 2 years at a community college (on average, you'll have to also factor in prerequisites) then you'll receive priority registration when you transfer to a 4-year college or university, as a junior.
3) Community colleges typically have jobs available (from working in the cafeteria, to note-taking, to tutoring) that you can apply for. These will work around your schedule.
4) Last, but certainly not least, the education level is comparable to a University, while still receiving the benefits above.
If community college seems a financial burden, you can fill out the FAFSA, to see if you qualify for financial aid (same as you would at a university). And, in California at least, the BOG fee waiver can be a life-saver!
