Contemporary Art Museum

The CAM was first established as the City Gallery of Contemporary Art in 1983 to benefit other Raleigh area museums and galleries by displaying contemporary art to the community. The name was changed to CAM in 1996. Located in the downtown area of Raleigh, the museum provides many different displays and exhibits of cultural art, provided by local, national, and regional artists. Permanent and traveling displays are both offered. CAM is open each day except Tuesday, with a $5 general admission price.
Marble Kids Museum

A awesome one for the kids, this museum is closed on Monday, and open each day of the week with fun, hands-on adventures for kids of all ages, as well as their families. An IMAX theater is inside of the museum, exhibits such as Splash!, an inside and outside water adventure; drawing, painting, and more at Art Loft; and so much more. Fun and education are combined at the museum, guaranteeing a memorable adventure.
North Carolina Museum of History

If you want to learn about what North Carolina, specifically the city of Raleigh, was like decades and centuries ago, this is the museum that can give it to you, with an impressive collection of displays, exhibits, artifacts, and more, detailing military history, decorative arts, sports heroes and more, in addition to special programs including craft demonstrations, music concerts and family events. The museum is open every day of the week with free admission.
