The city of Austin Texas (which is the music capital of the Lone Star State and America) has witnessed a musical revolution. The Barbarians of Sevilla have launched it against mainstream music from New York, Hollywood, and other places.
The instruments used to carry out the musical revolution were electric guitars and true grit rock music in the style of the 1960's and 1970's. Who are the members of the
The members are Vanessa Nicole who is the lead vocalist playing the guitar. Ms. Nicole is accompanied by Andy Gelder (formerly of the Hailstones) on drums, Bruce Kekrow (formerly of the Generics, The Homewreckers, Dead Eye, and Interrogator) on bass, and Teye on Guitars.
Teye is one of the members of the Barbarians of Sevilla who has played in the following bands: Bruce Springsteen, Teye and Belen, Joe Ely, Diwght Yoakam, Carmen Coates, and Het Goede Doel. I discovered the Barbarians of Sevilla by accident when I visited their webpage.
I accepted the invitation inside the webpage to visit and have not looked back. The songs by the Barbarians of Sevilla takes rock music to its roots within the 1960's and 1970's when the music was free spirited. Vanessa Nicole also does a great job vocalizing the music like she felt it.
The interpretation of the song "Getting Away" (composed by Teye) and interpreted by Vanessa Nicole was breath taking. I felt that the music meant the need for freedom. I felt like I was on the Florida Turnpike and US 1 from Miami to Key West Florida soaking the freedom.
I also heard Vanessa Nicole interpret her own composition "Baggage" which was down to earth. I had to find more music from the Barbarians of Sevilla and decided to visit their You Tube page.
The You Tube page of the Barbarians of Sevilla did not disappoint the underwriter with the abundance of music that existed. I saw and heard the video of the Barbarians of Sevilla interpreting "Pages of Imagination" (which was composed by Teye and Chris Savage).
The video was recorded during the Pecan Street Festival celebrated in Austin Texas during the year 2010. The song "Pages of Imagination" was filled with heavy duty metal rock with excitement in the band. It left me wanting more music so I saw the video "Drink It Down" (composed by Vanessa Nicole).
The impression from the videos and the music is that The Barbarians of Sevilla are leaving an imprint on the American Music scene which will be felt for the 21st Century. The Barbarians of Sevilla are becoming another alternative of fresh rock music to the mundane fast food music style of the mainstream society.
My best wishes for The Barbarians of Sevilla in their musical journey.
