Poetry: My lost love

by Debora Spadafora

Created on: August 10, 2011

I’m sitting here alone and blue
Wondering why all I think of is you
When did this start and can it be true?
After all these years my feelings grew.

Why have I wasted so many years?
Why did I leave you, what were my fears
I wish I knew, I wish I might
Erase all those years and be with you tonight.

All that I have now are memories of you
And so my love, this is why I’m blue
I guess I have no one to blame but me
That’s why I’m alone with just a memory.

But fear not my sweet, for this much I know
The love we shared will continue to grow
And wherever we are, or come what may
Our precious love will always find a way.

So think of me whenever you’re blue
And know that I’ll be thinking of you
And even though we may be miles apart
Reach in and borrow a memory from your heart.
