Poetry: I'll tell you why

by Pamela Folks

Created on: August 10, 2011

I'll tell you why I love you so,

Because I know you will never go.

You always look at me with such love in your eyes,

I know with you that there will never be lies.

On my finger you put a ring,

And promised that for me, you would do anything.

I looked at you and in your eyes I saw tears,

Tears that promised together we would have years.

And as you tenderly took my hand,

I knew our future you had already planned.

A life full of happiness, joy and love,

A promise that made God smile from above.

Our union, finally reached and promises kept,

My heart so full that I wept.

Family and friends witnessed our new life,

You, my husband, made me a wife.

Now a wife and a mother,

I could not ever ask for another.

My life began to immediately change for me,

Changes for the good that I could see.

You have done more for me than I could ever ask,

In your love I glow, I bask.

The warmth surrounds me like a summer day,

I don't think there's anymore I can say.

So I hope with this I tell you why,

Our love will stay strong, until the day we die.
